2021 Spotlight on DEI

Although Diversity, Equality and Inclusion is not a new idea, the summer of 2020 really propelled it into the spotlight, followed by the election win of Kamala Harris.

Inside workplaces, there's alot of progress that needs be made and old constructs that need to be replaced by new ones. As Forbes recently highlighted, McKinsey's study demonstrated that companies with greater gender diversity performed 15% better than companies with less gender diversity.

Companies are slowly starting to wake up and their reasons for waking up range from re-aligning to their mission statements to superficially protecting their image. One thing is for future, in our near future much of the purchasing power wll be with minority women so we need them at the table. We need their ideas, creativity and diverse thought as we design new products.
